HSSP Out-of-Cycle Meeting Agenda Planning

Hotel: Several hotels are in the area. Microsoft is extending their "Corporate Rate" to us. Ask for it when booking. Many of us are staying at the Fairfield Inn Seattle/Bellvue, but there is no room block.

Meeting Objectives:

  • To provide a venue for the HL7 community to engage and participate in the OMG Technology Adoption Process
  • To review the recently-issued Entity Identification Service (EIS) and Retrieve, Locate, Update Service (RLUS) RFPs
  • To provide a venue for those submitting companies to engage in collaboration dialogue with each other and the broader community
  • To provide the opportunity for organizations that missed the deadline to approach submitters about participation and teaming
  • To have open dialogue about the intent and spirit of the RFPs, discuss use cases, and better understand EIS and RLUS
  • To answer questions about the HSSP processes
  • To float candidate solution approaches and collect community feedback


DISCLAIMER: This agenda will be discussed on the HSSP call on 5 June and refined. We are seeking a balance between briefing information to those who need it, providing discussion time for open issues and topics, and providing a venue to do joint solutioning.

  • 9:00am Informal Meet-and-Greet; Networking Opportunity [Later start to accommodate those arriving on Tuesday]
  • 10:00am Welcome, Introductions, Review of Meeting Objectives
  • 10:15am Discussion of Attendee Expectations; Fine-tuning of Agenda (e.g., discussion about breakouts, etc)
  • 10:30am Process Overview and Roles Clarification: Submitters, Supporters, Voting List Members, etc.
  • 10:45am Break
  • 11:00am Overview Pass of EIS and RLUS RFPs
  • 12:30pm Lunch (on your own)
  • 1:30pm EIS Submitter Presentations (formal or informal) Allow submitters to express their intial impressions, approach, core ideas, etc.
  • 2:45pm Break
  • 3:00pm RLUS Submitter Presentations (same construct as above)
  • 3:45pm Discussion of Use Cases, other consitituent needs, community feedback on the above
  • 4:45pm Planning for Day 2; Discussion about Day 2 Solutioning forum

  • Candidate discussion items include:
    • discussion from community members on anticipated use cases
    • relationship and relevance of existing standards to candidate submissions
    • philosophical approaches about the RFPs
    • detail discussion about solution elements (such as conformance profiles and semantic signifiers)
