Health BPM Pilot


Sponsored by an open community initiative under the auspices of the Object Management Group, this effort aims to demonstrate health workflows ported for enacted in multiple institutions. While initially predominantly focused on clinical workflow, this pilot effort does contain within scope workflows for non-clinical situations as well.

Goals: Desired outcomes

  • Demonstrate feasibility of having portable health workflows
  • Portability of workflow documentation and state of WIP
  • Validate if BPMN, CMMN, and DMN are fit for purpose
  • Develop a project plan for an “Alpha” Pilot (Proof of Concept)

Scope

  • First only one use case
  • Focus on health clinical workflow
  • Diagram first: Platform Independent Model (PIM) leading to enactment
  • Implementation later: Platform Specific Model (PSM) leading to automation
    • Then Iterate on this list for other use cases
    • Then iterate for workflow domains (Operational, Procurement, Administrative,..)
